Choosing the Chiropractic Lifestyle

The benefits of regular chiropractic care are well proven. Many people choose to make it a part of their family lifestyle. For adults, children and elders alike, detecting, reducing and correcting spinal malfunctions leads to a better quality of life. In addition to counseling on diet, nutrition and exercise, we encourage all of our patients to participate actively in their own recovery. Discuss your expectations for care with us!
We are Committed to Patient Education
As you understand more about the role of your spine and nervous system in maintaining good health, you will make better decisions about your own care. We take the time to thoroughly explain all of our procedures and answer your questions. We encourage you to take an active role in learning more about your own recovery and health. When you meet the doctor, you will discuss your case history and what led you to seek initial treatment. The doctor will be glad to address any questions and concerns you have regarding care.
Getting Started
As a new patient, we will ask you to complete some simple paperwork. This will help the doctor better understand your health history and determine if your problem is likely to respond to chiropractic treatment. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be happy to assist you and answer questions about the forms.
Your Physical Examination and Care

New Patient Evaluation
After a consultation and a review of your health history, your doctor will conduct a physical examination. Your body structure will be evaluated and your overall health tested. This may include asking you to bend and turn to test your range of motion, and palpation tests to check for tenderness, pain and swelling. When additional examinations or x-rays of your spine are needed, the doctor will discuss them with you before proceeding. Based on this examination, the doctor will make recommendations for your individual care program. Depending on the treatment required by your condition, chiropractic care falls into three general phases.
Phase One
Initial Care: Most often, patients seek chiropractic care after a painful, spine-related injury or when a long-standing condition worsens. In the beginning, frequent chiropractic visits are usually needed to relieve symptoms. After your first adjustment, it's not unusual to enjoy some degree of relief immediately.
Phase Two
Rehabilitative Care: When you begin rehabilitative care, your office visits become less frequent. The goal of rehabilitative care is to promote more complete healing. Without it, recovery can take much longer.
Phase Three
Wellness Care: Maintaining a properly functioning nervous system is essential to your overall good health. By scheduling regular chiropractic check-ups you will catch minor problems before they become major concerns.
We Offer Safe, Natural Health Care
Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. While it is not unusual to hear of injuries from poorly prescribed drugs, drug overdose, bad drug combinations and treatments in the medical profession, it is extremely rare to hear of a problem resulting from chiropractic care. According to a government study in New Zealand, chiropractic care was found to be remarkably safe!
